The Town of Milton is one of the fastest growing communities in Chittenden County, Vermont. Since 2000, SE Group has provided master planning addressing the numerous issues created by this rapid growth. As part of these efforts, and in response to a recognized need for improved recreational facilities, Bombardier Park was identified as the initial focus for a phased implementation strategy. Coordinating a collaborative effort with the Town Staff and local citizens, SE Group developed a plan that identified the highest and best recreation uses for this valuable and underutilized parcel of land, located in the heart of the community.

Use patterns and the community’s perception of value of the existing facilities helped determine which of the sports fields and recreation uses should be strengthened by either adding new fields and/or creating new uses that didn’t previously exist on the site. New amenities include:

  • a multi-generational facility
  • concessions
  • soccer & baseball fields for multiple age groups
  • water play/splash park
  • ice rink
  • tennis & basketball courts
  • increased access to recreation trails

The master plan was adopted by the Town Select board and is waiting funding to move forward.
