Deer Valley’s original Master Plan, conceived in 1979, laid out a detailed framework for transforming the raw property into a world-class, destination ski resort. Adherence to the original plan throughout the past 30 years of implementation has ensured continuity of design and created a logical, interesting, and diverse ski experience. From the outset of development, resort ownership instituted strict standards and guidelines that would prevent the quality of the ski experience from being compromised by overly aggressive real estate development.
The quality and evolving variety of the ski lifts and terrain, coupled with industry leading guest service, has caused Deer Valley to achieve true world-class status. In annual rankings of ski resorts by readers of SKI Magazine between 2000 and 2010, Deer Valley was named the #1 ski resort in North America in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. During that same 10-year timeframe, Deer Valley captured the #2 spot in 2002, 2005 and 2007, and the #3 ranking in 2004.
