Located in the Tian Shan mountain range in northwestern China, Ping Tian is envisioned as the first, true four-season resort in China. As the first major resort proposal in China’s Northwestern province of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the primary hurtle for Ping Tian proponents was educating local government officials about the benefits a resort could bring to the region and helping them to incorporate resort planning principles into local zoning, planning and entitlement regulations. A comprehensive resort master plan for mountain facilities and base lands development helped illustrate the project concept to local, provincial and federal government agencies.
The project has been approved for construction and placed on the list of high-priority projects for both the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the Urumqi Municipality.
