Associate Environmental Analyst & Planner



SE Group is seeking an Associate Environmental Analyst & Planner to join one of our three offices. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team that specializes in permitting and environmental analysis for places that are shaped by a strong natural resource base, visitation and tourism, or access to the outdoors and public lands. Our project work is extensive and includes some of the most beautiful recreation destinations (ski resorts, mountain bike parks, wilderness areas) in the country. We like to think we have the best site visits!

Position Priorities

As part of the Environmental Services team, this position will work closely with project managers and staff to drive all facets of our work assisting clients and land management agencies with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental permitting process.

The key responsibilities include:

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in biological or natural resources, environmental science/policy, planning, forestry, or other related field. A Master’s degree in a similar field is preferable. We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but we will prioritize candidates that have at least 4-6 years of professional experience working on environmental or public lands regulations and/or in natural resource management.

Note on location: this position is open to a variety of work settings.  We have offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, Frisco, Colorado, and Burlington, Vermont; close proximity to one of these offices is preferred, but not required.  If candidates intend to be fully remote, we will prioritize candidates that are based in the Intermountain West (Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico); however, we are open to candidates nationally that share our passions for public lands.
