Business Analyst
Overview
SE Group is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Mountain Resorts team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team of industry leaders that sets the standard for the design and planning of ski areas and mountain resorts around the world. One week you may assist a team working on operational efficiency for a historic resort in New Hampshire and the next on expansion plans for a ski area in Utah. Our site visits are days on your skis or board!

Position Priorities
As part of the Strategic Business Analysis Service Area, this position will work closely with the service area leader, Director of Resort Planning and other project managers to support a large suite of client relationships.
Key areas of responsibilities and focus may include:
- Provide technical support and writing for various types of analyses:
- Resort financial statements
- Development of capital expansion plans
- Financial/operations benchmarking
- Due diligence
- Business plan review
- Economic impact analyses
- Conduct market research for:
- Demographics
- Competitive landscape analysis
- Case studies
- Visitation analysis and projections
- Review and summarize existing mountain conditions and operations
- Assist with business development tasks, such as proposal writing, portfolio/profile development, and management of our CRM database.
- Support Project Management through client communication, task management, and site visit planning.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, preferably in finance, economics and/or business administration. We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but we will prioritize candidates that have 1-4 years of professional experience working in a related field.
Required skills and experience include:
- Demonstrated experience in financial and market analysis - we are looking for candidates who have supported business decisions through data analysis and financial research
- Ideally, candidates will have a working understanding of the mountain resort industry and have held a relevant position at a ski area - if you don’t have that specifically, you’ll be expected to demonstrate your familiarity with the ski industry
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects at once, often with varying scales/scopes – this work will require you to be highly organized
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high results in an independent work setting – key in our hybrid office setting
- Strong analytical skills – having the ability to translate a wide variety of data points from various sources into clear, compelling narratives is a must
- An aptitude to learn quickly – Mountain resorts is a niche industry; you’ll have to learn a lot on the job
- Excellent communication skills – this position relies on ample writing and speaking in front of interdisciplinary teams
- An entrepreneurial spirit – you don’t just “do the job”
Note on location: While are primarily operating in a hybrid work environment, being able to meet, collaborate, socialize in the same space is vital to our team dynamic. Therefore, we will be prioritizing candidates who are located near one of our hubs in Utah (Salt Lake City), Vermont (Burlington), or Colorado, but remain open to qualified candidates in other locations.

- The anticipated salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $75,000, depending upon qualifications and experience
