Loon Mountain Resort's Black Ridge Expansion Announced
Loon Mountain Resort will officially be the largest ski resort in New Hampshire by the 2027/28 season!
Black Ridge, a 272-acre expansion within the White Mountain National Forest, will bring Loon to 675 skiable acres and add new terrain experiences for skiers and riders to explore. With expert-level glades, a 1,350-foot vertical drop, and natural snow, Black Ridge will expand Loon’s terrain while maintaining the rugged character of the landscape. The project’s design prioritizes minimal tree clearing and works with the natural contours of the site to create a unique backcountry-style experience within the resort's boundary.
SE Group has worked alongside Loon and the White Mountain National Forest through project planning and NEPA, helping bring this expansion from an idea to reality. Our Mountain Planning and Environmental Planning & Permitting teams will continue supporting Loon as the project moves toward implementation, including the final refinement of the gladed area layouts.
Congratulations to Loon Mountain Resort! We’re proud to have played a role in shaping this ambitious project and can’t wait to see skiers and riders experience Black Ridge when it opens, including a few runs of our own!
