Stowe Mountain Resort

The Spruce Peak at Stowe development marks the renaissance of Stowe Mountain Resort, providing long-anticipated upgrades, accommodations, and four-season attractions to the well-known ski destination. Building on a long-term working relationship, SE Group worked with the development team to redefine the village in accordance with new world criteria. 

The vibrant village green and ice skating rink (the new focus for year-round activities) is surrounded by the Stowe Mountain Lodge hotel + spa, Spruce Camp base lodge, and the new Adventure Center. Surrounding ski to/from real estate is set into the hillside providing outstanding views, privacy, and convenient connections with the base area. This seamless integration of mountain terrain and base area development throughout Spruce Peak is key to the project’s success.

The Spruce Peak development has transformed Stowe Mountain Resort into the premier mountain resort destination in the eastern U.S. and re-established the resort’s reputation as an industry leader.

This project was awarded the Vermont ASLA Public Places Honor Award in 2017.

The Stowe Mountain Lodge and Spa is a six story, 142-room luxury hotel located in the heart of Spruce Peak’s alpine village. The lodge’s architectural design celebrates the rustic Vermont alpine character while providing its guests unprecedented views of Spruce Peak and Mount Mansfield. Guests can enjoy direct access to both the Spruce Peak and Mt. Mansfield ski terrain thanks to the SE Group designed Over Easy gondola connecting the two mountains at Stowe Resort.

The site design was inspired by Spruce Peak’s environmental charter and naturalized approach. As a result, the lodge and spa were seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape. Amenities include outdoor water therapy hot tubs, indoor/outdoor pool with lap lanes, pool terrace, outdoor fire pits, and integrated dining terraces that front the village plaza.
