Waterbury State Office Complex

Tropical Storm Irene devastated the landscape of Vermont in August 2010. The Waterbury State Office Complex was one of many facilities affected by the storm; dramatically flooded, the complex found over 6 feet of water covering acres of land along with interior flooding in the majority of building.

The redevelopment of the Waterbury State Office Complex delivered a state of the art facility including; a New Office Building, renovated Historic Core Offices, new Central Plan for heating and cooling for the campus, new site infrastructure with green features, and a redesigned campus landscape with improved circulation and parking, a dynamic pedestrian environment, and a system of courtyards for employees and visitors—all of which respond to the need to reduce flood risk. The project has received numerous awards; both locally and regionally and has been distinguished as a LEED Platinum facility. What a great project!
